On Wednesday, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a lawsuit against Bojangles in the US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. The lawsuit alleges the general manager who oversees the Bojangles on Landover Road in Greensboro sexually harassed a female employee and retaliated against her for making a complaint.
According to the lawsuit, the sexual harassment began in April 2020, less than a month after she started working at the Bojangles location. The abuse began as comments about the employee's sexual history and whether he would have sex with the manager.
The comments made the employee uncomfortable, but she was afraid to talk about them for fear of hurting her ability to get promoted, according to the lawsuit.
A day after the first sexually harassing comments, the employee reported the behavior to a supervisor. However, the superintendent took no action on his behavior, according to the lawsuit.

In May 2020, the sexual assault turned physical when the CEO grabbed an employee's butt and touched her breast.

The employee's complaints led to his dismissal from the management training he attended, according to the lawsuit.

Jameria Hairston, the victim, is facing a civil lawsuit filed by her attorney's spokeswoman.
