The Air Force Services Cter (AFSVC) is a subordinate unit of the Air Force Installations and Mission Support Cter (AFIMSC) and is headquartered at JBSA-Lackland, Texas. Its mission is to provide programs of services and activities to prepare and restore Airmen and families AFSVC supports base, MAJCOM, and air personnel by providing technical assistance, new initiatives, program and system development, and conducting central support operations. AFSVC ensures the successful operation of aesthetic food, fitness, child care, lodging and recreational opportunities for military personnel and their families. Cter responsibilities include preparing high-level investigative responses, providing technical assistance in the field, and developing new programs that support major command and installation activities.
On 5 February 1991, the first iteration of AFSVC was established as the Air Force Morale, Welfare and Recreation Cter as a field operating agency under the headquarters of the US Air Force Services. Retained this name briefly until renamed Ethics, Welfare and Entertainment AG on 1 August 1991. Redesignated, now Air Force Services Agency (AFSVA) on 1 January 1994 under the Air Force Materiel Command in December 2014. The activity became a subordinate unit of the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Cter (AFIMSC) on 6 April 2015. AFIMSC redesignated AFSVA as the Air Force Service Cter
